Do you have hair that frizzes or irritation on your scalp? I have a quick and simple solution for you. Aloe Vera Gel. You can use the gel from the inside part of the leaf if you have a plant at home. With fresh aloe, I blend about half a cup. If you don’t have a plant you can always use store bought Organic Pure Aloe Vera gel, just watch out for Citric Acid and other added ingredients. Place the gel in the palm of your hand and work through your hair down to the tips. Leave in for 30 minutes or overnight. I use this on my hair because I have a very sensitive scalp and can’t use commercial products as they contain toxic chemicals like fragrance.
This hair treatment is something I enjoy as a deep conditioner for dry hair. The ingredients are probably right in your kitchen. Main ingredient? Avocados. You will need 1 organic egg, 1/4 cup of olive oil and 1 avocado. First, peel the avocado and remove pit. Mix all ingredients in a medium-sized bowl with your hands until it’s a consistent green color. Smooth into hair being careful to work it to the ends. Use a shower cap or wrap to seal moisture in. Leave on hair for 40 minutes or more. For deeper conditioning wrap a hot, damp towel around your head, or use a hair dryer set to a low to medium heat setting. Rinse with warm water.
Another hair hack I use is something that may sound a bit odd for some people. Pastured Ghee! I absolutely love ghee for cooking and baking. Its also a wonderful hair and skin healer. Apply as little or as much as you need to cover the scalp and hair. Leave on for 30 minutes or more, then rinse with warm water. If you’re feeling a bit creative and have some time, prepare an infused ghee with herbs like Thyme, Rosemary, Calendula and Plantain. Need to know how? Contact me to set up an herbal consultation and I can walk you through the process.
I hope you enjoyed this post. Sorry in advance that it’s a bit hurried, but I have my hands full with health stuff and with taking care of our little guy today.
